Being able to identify your heavy equipment is fundamental to the productivity of your worksite. Knowing which bulldozer, excavator or dump truck is performing what function is also critical to the safety of everyone in the field. Ralph’s Radio designs and builds several models of Heavy Equipment ID Sign Boxes. Our ID signs allow you to identify a piece of equipment quickly and easily. Each ID Sign Box is constructed from responsibly procured premium materials and features a tried-and-trusted design that has made them a popular choice in both Canada and the USA.
Quality Materials
We custom build each sign on a heavy-duty aluminum frame constructed to our specifications. We then send them out to be treated with a tough, durable powder-coat finish. Powder coating offers a protective barrier that is twice as thick as paint. Powder coating doesn’t release any VOCs, so it’s also better for our environment.
We use genuine Lexan 9030 Polycarbonate windows on our ID signs. This material is extremely durable and offers a crystal-clear vision of the 3M lettering. The Lexan panels are sealed to the aluminum frame with genuine 3M foam tape and stainless-steel hardware.
We use American-made LEDs in all of our illuminated signs. These LEDs offer excellent light output and efficiency while maintaining their rated luminance or extreme periods of time. Many LEDs often start to dim after being on for as little as an hour. The LEDs used in our signs are rated for a life of 100,000 hours and operate on voltages from 24 to 36 volts. They can handle temperatures from -40C to +70C (-40F to 158F).
Even with our lightweight aluminum construction, we include rubber isolating mounts to reduce vibration transfer from the machine to the sign. This further improves reliability.
We offer a two-year warranty on each sign. We have over 1,500 signs in the field and have not had a single warranty issue.
Configuration Options
Our signs are available in Illuminated or reflective designs. We offer three-sided signs with either bolt-on or magnetic mounting solutions. The largest of signs has letters that are 19 inches tall. You have your choice of three, four or five letters to meet the needs of your fleet. We can also supply bolt-on signs for Haul Trucks and optional LED beacons from Whelen.
Spare Parts In-Stock
Spare parts such as magnets, rubber isolation sandwich mounts, mounting brackets and replacement bases, and LEDs are available from us quickly and easily. If you need new numbers, custom-cut ID panels are also available on short notice.
