A client from Vancouver contacted Ralph’s Radio while searching for a custom radar detection system for his 2015 Dodge Hellcat. We invited him to the store to show him the new Escort Max CI solution. We explained how we could install it in his Challenger. He liked the plan, so we scheduled an appointment to begin work.
Custom Radar Detector Installation
The Escort Max CI is the latest solution for a custom-installed radar detector and laser shifter. It includes a high-sensitivity, dual-antenna radar receiver module. This provides the ultimate in long-range performance. The radar receiver is mounted behind the plastic front bumper cover to conceal it. The plastic bumper does not affect the performance of the receiver.
State-of-the-Art Laser Shifters
The new MAX CI is one of the best laser-detection and shifting solutions on the market. The latest software update for the MAX CI ensures that even the tricky DragonEye Speed LIDAR systems won’t be able to get a speed reading unless you disable the system. Our team mounted the ShifterMax sensors in openings in the lower front grille to conceal them. Each shifter is aimed to provide maximum sensitivity and range.
Dodge Hellcat Radar Detector Display
We mounted the Display Module for the MAX CI above the rearview mirror. This way the client will know what type of radar or laser signal is attempting to measure his speed. The control panel allows him to cancel the laser shifters, mark known false-alarm locations or make adjustments to the system quickly and easily.
All of the wiring for the system follows the factory wire paths for maximum reliability and cosmetic integration. We use quick-disconnects for the equipment in the front bumper in the event the vehicle needs to be serviced. We take time to ensure every electrical connection we make is both mechanically and electrically secure. This ensures system reliability and performance.
Client Training and Support
Once the system installation was complete and thoroughly tested, we set aside time with the customer to explain how it works. We showed him where the shifters are installed. We explained what the different messages on the display mean. The last step was to walk through the laser shifter deactivation process. We assured the client that he was welcome to return or call if he had any questions or concerns.
The client was very pleased with our Dodge Hellcat radar installation and felt confident that the system would protect him.
