Radar and Laser Protection for 2019 Lamborghini Huracan from Vancouver

Lamborghini Vancouver recently contacted Ralph’s Radio to inquire about having a radar detector and laser defense system installed in a brand-new Huracan Performante belonging to one of their clients. We’ve worked with this prestigious dealership several times in the past and were, of course, happy to assist in protecting their client from receiving speeding tickets. After coordinating the delivery of the vehicle directly to our location in Vancouver and discussing control panel and display placement, we were ready to begin the integration process.

Lamborghini Huracan Laser Shifter Installation

Custom pods were fabricated to hold the laser shifters next to the proximity sensors.

The rear laser shifters were mounted behind the plastic grille openings.

The speeding ticket protection solution for this Huracan would be based on an Escort MAX CI 360 system. Our technicians set to work removing the front and rear bumper covers to complete the integration of the ShifterMax laser transceivers. We fabricated mounting pods for the front fascia of the vehicle using layers of acrylic plastic that are contoured to fit just beside the front parking sensors to ensure perfect alignment of the transceivers. The rear transceivers are mounted behind the hexagonal mesh grille for a neat and tidy appearance.

Escort Radar Detector and Laser Display and Control Panel

The Escort control panel was conveniently mounted on the steering column.

A custom pod was fabricated to mount the Escort display unit.

Moving inside the vehicle, our fabrication team set to work creating a mounting pod for the Escort MAX CI 360 display. The pod is affixed to the top of the steering column, making the display easy to see while driving. The control panel for the Escort system is mounted to the lower half of the steering column trim piece. The client can reach the buttons easily to make adjustments or cancel the laser signal transmission once he’s confirmed the car is traveling at a speed that will not attract the attention of a police officer.

All of the control and interface modules for the system are secured under the dash, and the cabling is routed carefully through the vehicle to avoid areas of heat. We protect all the wiring with automotive-grade cloth and fleece tapes and secure everything so that there won’t be any chance of buzzes or rattles while the car is in motion.

Once the Escort radar detector system installation was complete and we had finished our testing, we let the dealership know the car was ready to be picked up.
